Commitment

I wonder how many of you have fallen off the wagon already in terms of your new year’s resolutions? The problem with making these resolutions is that too often we set goals that are unattainable so we set ourselves up for failure, but if it is something we REALLY want to achieve then we don’t even have to make a resolution at all because it’s going to happen anyway. If it is something we would quite like to achieve, then we need commitment and a game plan or it simply won’t happen. I came across this famous passage again recently and thought I’d share it with you as it says far more eloquently what I’m trying to say and brings in another dimension. I am always inspired whenever I read it and find it sends a tingle down my spine. Not surprisingly, it is called Commitment. Enjoy!

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.

Concerning all acts of initiative (& creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans:

That the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.

All sorts of things occur to help one that would otherwise never have occurred.

A whole stream of events – issues from the decision raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.

I have learnt deep respect for one of Goethe’s couplets:

“Whatever you can do or dream you can … begin it. For boldness has genius, power and magic in it.”

Quotes of the Week

Excellence can be obtained if you care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, and expect more than others think is possible. (source unknown)

We have just celebrated Australia Day here in the land of Oz (26th January) and I wanted to share with you an hilarious cartoon. Feedback (on the Let’s Get Physical DVD)

Hello Marlene.

Today I watched your DVD with ours and others music. Wooow!!! It was just like watching Tessa run a session. Fantastic. I am the musician part of our company but having stood beside her for so many years I have a PRETTY GOOD idea of what works and how to do it. So, you are right on the button. I was so impressed.

… your experience and professionalism is superb.

Good job Well done.

I am rapt!!

Brian.
