Welcome to Kidz Newz, especially to all new subscribers. Kidz Newz is a regular newsletter with information and teaching tips for anyone involved with young children. You are receiving this because you have attended one of my workshops, purchased a book, or you have requested to be on the mailing list. Thank you. Easter Craft

The purpose of this newsletter is simply to wish you all a Happy Easter. I found these wonderful images and had to share them with you. I hope they inspire you to get your kids going all crafty and making all manner of wonderful creations based on an Easter theme. Of course, eggs, rabbits and chickens dominate, and that’s appropriate. The point is that Easter is a time of renewal, of rebirth, of starting again. Prior to Christianity, Easter was the pagan festival celebrating the spring equinox, so planting of seedlings signifying new life, is also appropriate. How about planting things like carrots or lettuce or other edible plants? Children don’t need too much encouragement to get into the brightly-coloured paints and fabrics, not to mention getting into the dirt to do some gardening, so if you are not already doing something on this theme, I encourage you to do so straight away. Why? Because it’s fun! Engaged children learn better.

I came across some great Easter ideas (as always) in Helen Evans’ latest newsletter. To access these tips, go to – www.help4everyparent.com
